One of the world’s great historic cities, Lincoln is renowned for its fusion of old and new. The winning combination of a vibrant city centre and a historic Cathedral Quarter, both offering a rich variety of attractions, activities, and amenities, makes Lincoln a fantastic place in which to live and study.
Lincoln’s city centre includes an array of theatres, cinemas, restaurants, pubs, cocktail bars, live music venues and clubs. The Brayford Waterfront is popular for its restaurants, cafes and bars overlooking the water.
Whilst we are unable to host you in person this year, we hope you enjoy exploring our city virtually.
Watching over the city, Lincoln Cathedral is one of Europe’s most celebrated medieval buildings and was once the tallest building in the world. The Cathedral provides the stunning setting for the University’s graduation ceremonies.
Lincoln Castle is home to one of only four surviving originals of the 1215 Magna Carta and the only place in the world this landmark document can be seen side-by-side with the related Charter of the Forest.
The city’s famous Steep Hill – a beautiful cobbled street lined with boutique shops, tearooms, and restaurants – provides the gateway to the city’s historic Cathedral Quarter and Bailgate area.
Within walking distance of the University is a range of restaurants, cafes, and a multi-screen cinema overlooking one of Lincoln’s most iconic sights, Brayford Pool’s marina.
